Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a classroom setting
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing individual education plans for students with SEN
  • Support students with learning activities and help them to engage with the curriculum
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Work closely with the SEN coordinator and other staff members to address the specific needs of students
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and development

Required Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Knowledge of different learning needs and strategies to support students effectively
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs of students
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First Aid certification
  • Additional training in specific areas of SEN support

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday during school term times
  • Working hours may vary but typically 8:30am to 3:30pm
