We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic and inclusive school in Gosforth. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs and making a meaningful impact in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other learning difficulties.
- Assist in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons, working closely with the class teacher to support differentiated learning.
- Offer one-to-one and small-group interventions to enhance student progress and well-being.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
- Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators (SENCOs), and parents to implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Person Specification:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN is desirable but not essential.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting student learning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team.
- A valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or willingness to obtain one.
- Relevant qualifications, such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent (preferred).
