Are you someone who loves to support and inspire children? We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at a wonderful primary school in Harlow. This is a full-time role starting immediately, and it’s a fantastic opportunity for someone who’s passionate about helping children succeed.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing personalised support to a child with SEN, helping them participate fully in lessons
  • Assisting with day-to-day classroom activities, ensuring the child is fully engaged
  • Supporting the child with their social and emotional development, encouraging positive interactions
  • Working closely with the class teacher to adapt learning to suit the child's individual needs
  • Assisting with any personal care needs that may arise throughout the day
  • Helping the child maintain a positive attitude towards learning and overcoming challenges
  • Monitoring progress and sharing insights with the SENCO and other school staff

  • A patient, empathetic, and caring individual who enjoys working with children
  • Experience with SEN is beneficial but not required – we welcome those willing to learn!
  • A collaborative team player with great communication skills
  • Someone who can adapt easily and provide support in a variety of situations
  • An understanding of how to help children build confidence and achieve their potential
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a passion for supporting children's growth and success
