Job Duties:

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in classroom activities
  • Assisting the class teacher in implementing individual education plans
  • Providing one-on-one support to students with SEN
  • Helping students to develop their social and communication skills
  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene needs of students, if required
  • Supporting students in accessing the curriculum and adapting materials as necessary

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Education:

  • GCSEs in English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEN and the impact on learning and development
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures related to SEN

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • First aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily takes place within a school environment
  • May involve some physical activities such as assisting with student mobility
  • Regular interaction with students, teachers, and parents

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
