Job Duties:

  • Assisting students with special educational needs in their learning and development
  • Supporting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored educational activities
  • Providing one-to-one support to students to help them achieve their learning goals
  • Assisting in the management of classroom behaviour and ensuring a safe learning environment
  • Collaborating with other staff members and parents to support student progress

Required Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths

Experience:

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience and empathy when working with students with special educational needs
  • Basic understanding of educational principles and practises

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a school environment
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
