Waltham Forest College is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our outstanding team! This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will work 1:1 with a bright young boy with ASD, helping him to focus and stay engaged in his learning.
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the student's academic and personal growth. The young boy you will be supporting faces challenges with focus and often becomes easily distracted. Your role will involve providing tailored support, using various techniques to help him stay on track, engage with his studies, and develop his social and communication skills. You will work closely with the teaching staff to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a young boy with ASD, focusing on maintaining attention and managing distractions.
- Assist with tasks in class, ensuring the student remains engaged with their learning.
- Develop individualized strategies to support the student’s focus and concentration.
- Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress and adapt teaching methods to suit the student's needs.
- Help the student with social interactions, communication, and developing life skills.
