Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate 1-1 Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide personalised support to a student with special educational needs, ensuring they have access to an inclusive and enriching learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies for the assigned student.
- Provide one-to-one assistance and guidance to the student during classroom activities, ensuring their participation and engagement.
- Adapt teaching materials and resources to meet the specific learning needs and preferences of the student.
- Foster a supportive and nurturing relationship with the student, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
- Monitor and record the progress of the student, reporting any concerns or achievements to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including therapists and external agencies, to provide holistic support to the student.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or support worker in a special educational needs setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of various special educational needs, including but not limited to autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and physical disabilities.
- Understanding of different learning styles and ability to adapt teaching approaches accordingly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Relevant qualifications in education, special educational needs, or a related field would be advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
