Job Duties:

The Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant will provide classroom support to students with special educational needs. Responsibilities include assisting the teacher in implementing individual education plans, supporting students with learning activities, and providing personal care when necessary.

Required Qualifications:

- Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs
- Thorough understanding of the UK educational system
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Education:

A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths is required. Additional qualifications in special education or teaching assistance are highly desirable.

Experience:

Prior experience working with children or individuals with special needs is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

- Knowledge of special educational needs practises and strategies
- Ability to provide emotional support to students
- Strong organisational skills
- Patience and empathy

Preferred Qualifications:

- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

The role of Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant is based in a school classroom environment. The position may involve physical activity and occasional personal care duties. Working hours are typically Monday to Friday during school hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
