Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in their learning and development
  • Assisting teachers in planning and delivering tailored lessons for students with SEN
  • Providing one-to-one support and guidance to students with SEN
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborating with other staff members and parents to ensure the best possible support for students

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Additional training in SEN support is desirable

Experience:

  • Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant
  • Experience in supporting students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different SEN conditions and their impact on learning
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SENCO qualification
  • First Aid training

Working Conditions:

  • Working hours may vary but typically follow the school day
  • Work may involve physical activity, such as assisting students with mobility
  • Regular interaction with students, teachers, and parents

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
