About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you’ll work with small groups of 6-8 students, delivering tailored lessons that address their unique learning needs. Your role will be pivotal in helping students with complex autism and high sensory needs flourish academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Individualised Teaching: Design and deliver personalised lessons aligned with each student’s Individualised Education Plan (IEP).
  • Inspire Students: Foster a love of learning and help students develop independence and essential life skills.
  • IEP Management: Develop, implement, and regularly review IEPs, adapting strategies to meet changing needs.
  • Collaborative Support: Work closely with teaching assistants, families, and school staff to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Safe Learning Environment: Uphold positive behaviour policies and ensure the classroom is a nurturing space for all.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a passion for working with SEN students.
  • Experience: Experience teaching children with complex autism and sensory needs.
  • Skills: Expertise in SEN strategies and the ability to adapt teaching to diverse learning styles.
  • Personal Attributes: Empathy, patience, and resilience to connect with students and navigate challenges effectively.
