### Protocol Education - Seeking Passionate and Professional SEN Teacher in South Tyneside

### Position: SEN Teacher

We are currently recruiting an exceptional and inspirational SEN teacher to join our school either in June or September 2024. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, providing outstanding education to our children.

#### Key Responsibilities:
- **Student Engagement:** Work with a class of 6-8 students, following individualised learning plans and planning tailored lessons.
- **Policy Implementation:** Adhere to school policies on learning and behaviour, and statutory guidelines relating to special educational needs.
- **Student Motivation:** Encourage pupils to learn and socialise, promoting independence by assisting with personal, physical, or medical needs.
- **Individualised Education Plans:** Develop and implement tailored education plans for students with complex autism and high sensory needs.
- **Assessment and Adaptation:** Assess student progress and modify teaching strategies as needed.
- **Collaboration:** Work with families and other school staff to create a supportive learning environment.
- **Direct Instruction:** Provide direct instruction, support, and guidance to students, individually and in groups.

#### Requirements:
- **Qualifications:** Qualified Teacher Status.
- **DBS:** DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to undertake one.
- **References:** Minimum of 2 satisfactory and recent references.

#### Ideal Candidate:
- **Interest in SEN:** Genuine interest in working with SEN children and willingness to assist with personal care.
- **Experience:** Previous experience working with students with complex autism and high sensory needs.
- **Skills:** Knowledge of effective teaching strategies for students with complex autism and high sensory needs, and the ability to handle situations and behaviour calmly and sensitively.
- **Passion:** A passion for shaping young children's education and adapting to their individual circumstances.
- **Commitment:** Flexibility, commitment, and the ability to provide short, sharp tuition and brain breaks as needed.
- **Special Interests:** A genuine passion for SEND and/or SEMH.

#### Role Details:
- **Schedule:** Full-time position, Monday to Friday.
- **Class Size:** Working with a class of 6-8 students.
