Position: SEN Teacher

We are currently recruiting an exceptional and inspirational SEN teacher to join our school either in June or September 2024. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, providing outstanding education to our children. As an SEN teacher, you will work with a class of 6-8 students per class, following individualised learning plans, and planning tailored lessons to meet their needs. You will be responsible for implementing school policies on learning and behaviour, as well as statutory guidelines relating to special education needs. Additionally, you will be responsible for motivating pupils to learn and socialise, promoting independence by assisting with personal, physical, or medical needs, and developing and implementing individualised education plans for students with complex autism and high sensory needs.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to undertake one
  • Minimum of 2 satisfactory and recent references

Ideal Candidate:

  • Genuine interest in working with SEN children and willingness to assist with personal care
  • Previous experience working with students with complex autism and high sensory needs
  • Experience dealing with non-verbal students and supporting sensory-seeking behaviours
  • Knowledge of effective teaching strategies for students with complex autism and high sensory needs
  • Ability to handle situations and behaviour calmly and sensitively
  • Passion for shaping young children's education and adapting to their individual circumstances
  • Commitment, flexibility, and ability to provide short, sharp tuition and brain breaks as needed
  • Genuine passion for SEND and/or SEMH

Role Details:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
