Join Protocol Education as SEN Support Staff at a SEN school in Chessington!

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people with special educational needs (SEN)? Protocol Education is seeking dedicated, experienced SEN staff to join a provision, a specialist SEN school for young people aged 9 to 19.

Position: SEN Support Staff

Location:  Chessington
Contract Type: Full-time

About the provision:
The school is a nurturing and supportive environment where each student has an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP), and many students also have additional needs, including mild to moderate Autism Spectrum Disorders, language impairments, or emotional challenges. Some students require sensory or medical support.

The school’s small class sizes (8-10 students) and skilled staff ensure that students experience a balanced level of independence. At Key Stage 3, students work in mixed-ability groups for most subjects, with English and math taught in ability-based sets. Key Stage 4 offers a broad range of subjects, and all courses result in accredited qualifications.

St Philip's is committed to promoting independence, offering life skills programs, travel training, and work experience. For Post-16 students, the focus is on building functional life skills to prepare them for future transitions.

The school also provides an array of enrichment opportunities through after-school clubs and residential trips, as well as significant emotional support through dedicated well-being services, including counseling, play therapy, and drama therapy.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in SEN support – ideally in a school setting
  • Patience and empathy – with a commitment to understanding each child’s unique needs
  • Teamwork and communication skills – to work effectively within a school team
  • Flexibility and creativity – to adapt to varied classroom situations
