We are seeking a dedicated SEN Support Worker to join our team through Teaching Personnel, working in a specialist alternative provision setting in Worthing. This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, proactive, and committed to helping students overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
About the Setting:
This setting operates across multiple sites in West Sussex, supporting children and young people who have been:
✅ Permanently excluded from mainstream schools
✅ At risk of exclusion due to behavioural or social challenges
✅ Out of education due to medical or mental health needs
The school provides specialist education and tailored support to students who require additional assistance in their learning. Staff work closely with families, mainstream schools, and external agencies to create a structured, supportive, and engaging learning environment that meets the diverse needs of every student.
The setting focuses on re-engaging students in education, developing their confidence, and preparing them for a successful future.
About the Role:
As an SEN Support Worker, you will:
✅ Work closely with teachers to provide tailored support to students with additional needs.
✅ Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to support learning and social development.
✅ Assist students with behavioural, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
✅ Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, helping them regain confidence in learning.
✅ Support students in developing essential life skills to help them transition into further education or employment.
About You:
We are looking for individuals who:
✔️ Have a passion for working with young people, especially those facing challenges.
✔️ Are resilient, patient, and understanding of different learning needs.
✔️ Have excellent communication skills and can build positive relationships with students.
✔️ Hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths & English (Grade C or above).
✔️ Have knowledge of the national curriculum and relevant learning strategies.
