We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team on a full-time temporary basis in Cramlington. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an environment where you can make a real difference in the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH needs, providing both academic and emotional support
  • Implement strategies to help students manage their emotions, behaviours, and social interactions
  • Work alongside teachers and other professionals to create tailored learning plans
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and safe classroom environment where students feel valued
  • Monitor student progress and report back to the teaching team and parents
  • Build strong relationships with students, providing encouragement and promoting self-esteem

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience working with students with SEMH or a related field is highly desirable
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills to engage students effectively
  • A proactive, flexible approach with the ability to adapt to the individual needs of each student
  • Strong teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently when required
  • A genuine passion for supporting students in their personal and academic development
