An excellent SEN school that we are in partnership with are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join their team. The school is a rural school for students with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Their vision is to ensure every student fulfils their potential and is prepared for their transition into adulthood. The Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Support Worker to join their team. In this role, you will work closely with children and young people to provide tailored support for their emotional and behavioral needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build trusting relationships with young people to encourage positive engagement.
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to address emotional, behavioral, and social difficulties.
  • Implement individual support plans and strategies tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a holistic approach to care.
  • Assist in managing challenging behavior using de-escalation techniques and restorative practices.
  • Promote positive mental health and emotional resilience through mentoring and activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress and challenges, reporting to relevant staff as needed.

About You

To succeed in this role, you should:

  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (desirable).
  • Be resilient, empathetic, and patient, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Hold relevant qualifications, such as Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Youth Work, or Mental Health (desirable but not essential).
  • Have knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practices.
  • Be passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
