Your expertise in conflict resolution, safeguarding, and de-escalation makes you an ideal fit for SEN/SEMH support roles in Newcastle schools. Protocol Education is seeking resilient, adaptable, and compassionate individuals to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable students.

The Role:

You’ll be working with students who have special educational needs (SEN), including social, emotional, and mental health challenges (SEMH). Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals.

  • Creating a safe and structured learning environment.

Why Your Police Experience Matters:

Your background in conflict management, safeguarding, and handling high-pressure situations makes you uniquely suited to support students with complex needs. Your ability to stay calm under pressure, build trust, and maintain boundaries will be invaluable in helping students regulate their emotions and thrive in the classroom.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with vulnerable individuals (children, young adults, or families) in a professional capacity.

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding practices and behaviour management strategies.

  • Ability to support students with SEMH challenges, trauma, and behavioural difficulties.

  • Resilient, patient, and empathetic personality.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Why Join Protocol Education?

  • Access to ongoing CPD (including free and discounted training).

  • No umbrella schemes – transparent pay with no hidden deductions.
