SEMH Support Assistants Needed

A federation in Lincoln are recruiting for two SEMH Support Assistants to start ASAP! These roles will be across either school in the federation (to be determined upon candidate suitability) and will entail supporting pupils with English, Maths and Science on a 121 basis or through small group intervention. These roles have the potential to become permanent positions with this depending on candidate suitability.

Job Duties:
- Provide support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Assist in implementing individualised education plans for students
- Support students in their academic and social development
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to meet the needs of students
Required Qualifications:
- Good understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning
- Experience working with children or young adults with SEMH needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
Education:
Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Education, Health Care, or related field
Experience:
Previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
Preferred Qualifications:
- First Aid certification
- Training in de-escalation techniques
Working Conditions:
This role involves working in a classroom setting with students who have SEMH needs. The environment may be challenging at times, requiring patience and resilience. Full-time hours are expected, with occasional flexibility needed to meet the needs of the students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
