SEMH Cover Supervisor

Job Description:
Job Duties:
- Supervise and support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in the absence of the regular classroom teacher
- Implement pre-planned lessons and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Manage classroom behaviour and encourage positive student engagement
- Provide feedback to regular teachers on student progress and behaviour
- Support students with additional needs and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
Required Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively
Education:
- Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a relevant field
Experience:
- Experience working in a school or educational environment
- Experience supporting students with SEMH needs is desirable
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of SEMH and strategies to support students with these needs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures in an educational setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching Assistant qualification
- Additional training in behaviour management or special educational needs
Working Conditions:

- Working in a classroom environment with students with SEMH needs
- Potential exposure to challenging behaviour and emotional situations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
