Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Supporting secondary school teachers in delivering lessons
  • Assisting students with special educational needs (SEN) and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges
  • Implementing strategies for de-escalation and positive behavioural support
  • Providing one-on-one support to students as needed
  • Assisting in the preparation of educational materials

Qualifications:

  • Certification in de-escalation techniques
  • Training in Positive Behavioural Support

Education:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Additional qualifications in Education or Special Education are desirable

Experience:

  • Prior experience working in a school or educational setting
  • Experience supporting students with SEN and SEMH

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEN and SEMH needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to implement behaviour management strategies
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher education qualification in Education or related field
  • Additional training in special educational needs

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with regular school hours
  • Work in a secondary school setting in Wandsworth
  • Collaborate with teachers, students, and parents to support learning and development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
