Job Description
Job Duties:
- Supporting secondary school teachers in delivering lessons
- Assisting students with special educational needs (SEN) and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges
- Implementing strategies for de-escalation and positive behavioural support
- Providing one-on-one support to students as needed
- Assisting in the preparation of educational materials
Qualifications:
- Certification in de-escalation techniques
- Training in Positive Behavioural Support
Education:
- Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
- Additional qualifications in Education or Special Education are desirable
Experience:
- Prior experience working in a school or educational setting
- Experience supporting students with SEN and SEMH
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of SEN and SEMH needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to implement behaviour management strategies
- Organisational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Higher education qualification in Education or related field
- Additional training in special educational needs
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with regular school hours
- Work in a secondary school setting in Wandsworth
- Collaborate with teachers, students, and parents to support learning and development
