A welcoming secondary school in Shrewsbury is seeking a dedicated and determined SEND Support Specialist to join their team. This role is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference by providing tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEND, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and adapting classroom materials to support accessibility.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive environment where all students feel valued and empowered.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and other staff to monitor progress and address challenges effectively.
  • Uphold the school’s policies and ethos while fostering an atmosphere of respect and achievement.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEND in an educational or similar setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive, patient, and committed approach to supporting student development.
  • Local to the Shrewsbury area or able to commute reliably.
  • Determination and resilience to overcome challenges and achieve positive outcomes.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
