SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Brighton Area)

 

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with additional needs? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN TA to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in the Brighton area.

 

About the Role: This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a school committed to ensuring every student receives the support they need to succeed. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum and thrive in a mainstream setting.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs on a one-to-one basis and in small groups

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

  • Implement and follow individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies

  • Promote a positive and supportive learning environment

  • Manage behaviour effectively, following school policies and SEN best practices

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to ensure student progress

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting

  • A strong understanding of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties

  • Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students

  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with young people

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN training) are desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
