The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Secondary School Welfare Officer starting in September 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the welfare and well-being of our students, working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional and practical support to students facing various welfare issues.
- Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to identify and address welfare concerns.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote student well-being and mental health.
- Liaise with external agencies and services to provide additional support when needed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of welfare cases and interventions.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies related to student welfare.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant qualifications in social work, counselling, or a related field.
- Experience working with young people in a welfare or pastoral role, preferably within a school setting.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to student well-being.
Requirements:
- The right to work in the UK.
- Has or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Demonstrated commitment to education and personal growth.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
