Position: Secondary School Welfare Officer

Start Date: September 2024

Location: Harrow

Full Time: 8:30-3:30

 

The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Secondary School Welfare Officer starting in September 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the welfare and well-being of our students, working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional and practical support to students facing various welfare issues.
  • Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to identify and address welfare concerns.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote student well-being and mental health.
  • Liaise with external agencies and services to provide additional support when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of welfare cases and interventions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies related to student welfare.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant qualifications in social work, counselling, or a related field.
  • Experience working with young people in a welfare or pastoral role, preferably within a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to student well-being.

Requirements:

  • The right to work in the UK.
  • Has or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to education and personal growth.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
