A special needs secondary school located in Wandsworth are currently looking for teaching assistants to work with secondary students with moderate learning difficulties and autism to start from September. As a teaching assistant you will be working in a class ranging from 12 - 14 students per class supporting students during lessons, differentiating work to meet students needs, managing challenging behaviour, supporting the class teacher, and assisting with employability programs. As part of the role, you will be working in a set year supporting students across lessons that music, art, numeracy, literacy, P.E. cooking, preparing students for college or employability. This SEND school are looking for outgoing and proactive teaching assistants who enjoy working with children and are comfortable working with special needs. Whilst experience preferred it is not required,
The Role:
- Monday to Friday - 08:30 - 15:30
- autism, speech & language and moderate learning difficulties
- Working with students in a set class of 12 - 14 students per class
- Developing student's communication and social awareness
