Position Overview:
The School Secretary will play a crucial role in the day-to-day administrative functions of the school. This position requires excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a welcoming demeanour. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for students, parents, and visitors, providing exceptional service and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Front Office Management: Greet and assist visitors, parents, and students with a friendly and professional attitude.
  • Communication: Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls, emails, and mail.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate student records, attendance logs, and other essential documentation.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with various administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and preparing documents.
  • Coordination: Coordinate meetings, events, and school activities, ensuring all logistical details are handled efficiently.
  • Supplies Management: Monitor and order office supplies as needed, ensuring the front office is well-stocked and organized.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional qualifications in office administration or related fields are a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably within an educational setting not mandatory.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable with school management software.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, staff, and visitors.
  • Organisation: Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to handle unexpected situations with grace and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • The right to work in the UK.
  • Has or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
