About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during short-term teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task with pre-set work. You’ll manage classroom behavior, provide assistance where needed, and maintain a positive learning environment.

This is an ideal opportunity for individuals considering a career in teaching, recent graduates, or those with experience working with young people. No formal teaching qualification is required, but strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage groups are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students during teacher absences, following set lesson plans.
  • Maintain classroom control and promote positive behavior.
  • Assist students with questions or difficulties related to their work.
  • Liaise with teaching staff and senior leadership teams.
  • Uphold the school’s policies and ethos.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people (teaching, coaching, mentoring, or youth work).
  • Confidence in managing classroom behavior.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work in different schools across Shropshire.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
