THE CANDIDATE
- DfE recognised and relevant teaching qualification
- Knowledge and understanding of the (subject) curriculum
- Experience teaching science in a secondary (KS3/KS4/KS5) classroom environment
- Experience working with students with additional needs
- Evidence of CPD
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Can demonstrate problem-solving skills when facing challenging situations
- Must have, or be willing to, undergo an enhanced DBS check
- Committed to ensuring the safeguarding of young people
THE ROLE
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons according to the school’s curriculum standards
- Maintaining student progress records
- Providing support for form students’ development and overall progress as a form tutor
- Contribute to the raising standards of student achievement
- Managing student behaviour according to the school policy and reporting any issues or concerns to senior staff
- Maintaining a positive, encouraging and inclusive learning environment for students
