Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging science lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for students
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress, providing feedback to support their development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience
  • Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in a relevant subject area
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum for science

Education:

Degree in a relevant subject area

Experience:

Previous experience teaching science at the secondary school level

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of science concepts and principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Science
  • Experience using technology in the classroom

Working Conditions:

The role involves working in a school environment with students aged 11-16. Standard school hours apply with additional time required for lesson planning and assessment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
