Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging science lessons for students
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress, providing feedback and support
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum
  • Participate in school events and meetings as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in Science or related field

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Science or related field

Experience:

  • Proven experience teaching Science at the secondary level
  • Familiarity with the UK national curriculum

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Science subjects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Organisational and time-management abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education
  • Experience in extracurricular science activities or clubs

Working Conditions:

  • Regular school hours, but may require additional hours for lesson planning and grading
  • Classroom-based teaching with some opportunities for outdoor or practical lessons
  • Collaborative work with other teachers and school staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
