Protocol Education are working with a number of schools in the Tyne and Wear area to support them with the recruitment of mental health support workers. 

We are recruiting for graduates (ideally psychology or social sciences but we will consider all graduates)/  Care Workers/ Teachers/ Youth Workers etc. You will work as  a Mental Health/Teaching Assistant in mainstream Secondary Schools across Tyne and Wear. You will work with children with both Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) and SEND needs (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), for example children with Autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, etc. 

We have positions starting immediately (pending clearance) or from January 2024 with the potential to go through to July 2024 and beyond. An increasing number of our roles have led to permanent opportunties. 

You need the Right to Work in the UK.  You need to be available 5 days a week (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm).

Working as a mental health/ teaching assistant can be a challenging but rewarding role.
