Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant –  NE28 Area, Newcastle

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of students? We are seeking a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and thriving secondary school located in the NE28 area of Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a school committed to inclusivity, student well-being, and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students across a range of subjects, working closely with teachers to deliver engaging lessons and help students reach their full potential.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of learning resources and activities to ensure students are fully engaged.
  • Help to manage classroom behaviour and create a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
  • Support the teacher with classroom management, marking, and administrative tasks.
  • Encourage students to develop their confidence, independence, and social skills.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to both students and teachers.
  • Provide pastoral support and help with the overall well-being of students.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with students in an educational setting, ideally supporting students with a range of learning needs.
  • A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to undergo a DBS check through Protocol Education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with students, staff, and parents.
  • A positive, patient, and flexible approach to supporting students.
  • An understanding of how to support students with SEND and other learning barriers.
  • A proactive attitude and a passion for helping students achieve their best.
