Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant – NE28 Area, Newcastle
Are you a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of students? We are seeking a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and thriving secondary school located in the NE28 area of Newcastle. Key Responsibilities:
- Support students across a range of subjects, working closely with teachers to deliver engaging lessons and help students reach their full potential.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of learning resources and activities to ensure students are fully engaged.
- Help to manage classroom behaviour and create a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
- Support the teacher with classroom management, marking, and administrative tasks.
- Encourage students to develop their confidence, independence, and social skills.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to both students and teachers.
- Provide pastoral support and help with the overall well-being of students.
What We’re Looking For:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience working with students in an educational setting, ideally supporting students with a range of learning needs.
- A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to undergo a DBS check through Protocol Education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with students, staff, and parents.
- A positive, patient, and flexible approach to supporting students.
- An understanding of how to support students with SEND and other learning barriers.
- A proactive attitude and a passion for helping students achieve their best.
