Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Sociology lessons to students
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, provide feedback and support where needed
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall curriculum
  • Participate in school events and activities as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in Sociology or related field

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Sociology or related field

Experience:

Prior experience teaching Sociology at the secondary school level is preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Sociology curriculum and teaching methods
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate students
  • Organisational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education
  • Experience working with diverse student populations

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a school setting, following the academic calendar. Some extracurricular involvement may be required.
