Job Description

Job Duties:

The Qualified Science Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging science lessons to students, creating a positive learning environment, assessing students' progress, and providing feedback to support their development. They will also be expected to participate in staff meetings, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to the overall success of the science department.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in Science or related field
  • Proven experience teaching science at the secondary level
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Education:

A degree in Science or related field is required.

Experience:

Previous experience teaching science at the secondary level is essential.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Deep understanding of the science curriculum
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Effective assessment and feedback techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs

Working Conditions:

The Qualified Science Teacher will work full-time hours, following the school calendar. They will be based in South Benfleet, Essex, and may be required to participate in extracurricular activities or school events as needed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
