Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Qualified Religious Education Teacher to join our team in Basildon, Essex. As a dedicated educator, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality religious education to students in line with the national curriculum.

Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons on religious education topics
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and parents
  • Participate in departmental meetings and school events
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in Religious Studies or related field
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for religious education

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies or a related field

Experience:

Previous experience teaching religious education at secondary school level

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate students
  • Strong understanding of different religious beliefs and practises
  • Organisational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education or Religious Studies
  • Experience working with diverse student populations

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position based in Basildon, Essex. The role may involve some extracurricular activities and occasional evening events.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
