Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in Food Technology to students
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress, providing feedback and support where needed
  • Create a positive learning environment that encourages students' participation and interest in the subject
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum improvements
  • Keep accurate records of student attendance, performance, and grades

Required Qualifications:

  • Recognised teaching qualification in Food Technology
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the Food Technology curriculum

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Food Technology or related field

Experience:

Previous experience teaching Food Technology in a school setting preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Food Technology principles and practises
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities
  • Organisational skills to plan lessons effectively and manage workload

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education or Food Technology
  • Experience working with diverse student populations

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a school environment, following the academic calendar. Regular working hours with occasional evening or weekend work required for school events or meetings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
