Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons to a diverse group of students
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and teaching materials
  • Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in English or related field
  • Experience teaching English at the secondary level

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in English or related field
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or equivalent

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a secondary school setting
  • Demonstrated success in improving student achievement

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum for English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
  • Proficient in classroom management techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Education or English
  • Experience with exam preparation (GCSE, A-Level)
  • Additional subject specialism or extracurricular involvement
