About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Psychology Graduate to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant in South Shields. In this role, you will work closely with students, many of whom have additional educational needs, including social, emotional, and mental health challenges. You’ll play a key role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, helping students develop their academic and social skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students in various subjects.
- Implement individual learning plans and adapt resources to meet the needs of each student.
- Assist in the development of strategies to support emotional and social well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to monitor student progress.
- Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages engagement and learning.
About You
- A recent Psychology graduate or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable in challenging situations.
- Previous experience working with young people is advantageous but not essential.
