Protocol Education are currently recruiting qualified teachers with or without experience to work in a Post 16 SEND College to start from Sept 2024. Whilst experience is an advantage it isn't a requirement, the college will offer continued professional development and training to all successful applicants throughout the year and provide mentoring to teachers who are new to SEND. The role will be teaching post 16 students courses that involve life skills, numeracy and literacy, vocational course, employability programs. To be considered applicants MUST be eligible to teach. Class sizes range from 6 - 8 students per class with a number of highly experience teaching assistants to support the students on a one to one basis.
The role:
- Monday to Friday
- Teaching in a designated class
- Plan and deliver work in line with the schools specialist curriculum
- Use a variety of creative teaching approaches that enable students to learn in accordance to their needs
- Ensuring students academic/development targets are met
- Promoting positive social behaviours
- Establish good relationships with parents and peers
- Managing teaching assistants
- Managing student behaviours
