The Role:

As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our students’ educational and personal development. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored support to students with PMLD, meeting their physical, emotional, and educational needs.
  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering personalized learning activities.
  • Supporting students with personal care tasks such as feeding, toileting, and mobility.
  • Monitoring and recording students' progress, collaborating with the SENCO and teaching staff.
  • Working alongside therapists, medical professionals, and other specialists to provide holistic support.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with PMLD.
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Strong organizational skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to undertake further training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
