Salary: £88 - £110 per day (dependent on experience)

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)? We are seeking a dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Harrow, where you will play a key role in enhancing students' educational and personal development.

The Role:

As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to students, ensuring their physical, emotional, and learning needs are met. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing individualized support to students with PMLD in both classroom and therapy-based settings
  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering personalized learning activities
  • Supporting students with personal care tasks, including feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress, collaborating with the SENCO and teaching staff
  • Working alongside therapists and medical professionals to provide holistic support

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with PMLD
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and further training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
