Year 1 Class Teacher (Maternity Cover)


Contract: Part-Time (Monday – Wednesday), Fixed Term
Duration: 2 Terms (until the end of the academic year)
Start Date: Immediate start or as soon as possible

The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Class Teacher to join our supportive team on a maternity cover basis for 2 terms, working part-time from Monday to Wednesday. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that inspire a love of learning, cater to diverse learning needs, and promote progress for all students in Year 1.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and curiosity
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and supporting individual learning journeys
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, fellow teachers, and parents to support each child's educational and personal development
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the wider school community

About You:
The ideal candidate will be an experienced, creative, and adaptable primary teacher who thrives in a collaborative environment. You will be passionate about early years education, have strong classroom management skills, and be committed to inspiring young learners.

Requirements:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Relevant teaching experience in Key Stage 1, ideally in a Year 1 setting
- Strong understanding of the national curriculum and best practices in early years education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
