Calling all Experienced SENCO's

Protocol Education are working with a lovely infant school in Leavesden, North Watford. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SENCO to join their team starting ASAP. This part-time role, working 2-3 days a week, is crucial in ensuring that our students with special educational needs receive the tailored support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordination and Implementation: Lead the development and implementation of effective SEN policies and practices across the school.
  • Individual Support: Work closely with teachers and support staff to create and manage Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Training: Provide training and professional development for staff on SEN issues and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly assess and monitor the progress of students with SEN, ensuring interventions are effective and adjusting strategies as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs in a primary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Desirable:
  • National Award for SEN Coordination or willingness to work towards it.
  • Experience in a leadership or coordination role within an educational setting.
