About the Role:
As a One-to-One SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a Reception-aged child with non-verbal autism in a partnered school with Protocol Education. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Working one-to-one with the child to support their communication, social, and emotional development
- Implementing tailored strategies to encourage engagement and progress
- Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure the best outcomes
- Providing a nurturing and structured environment for the child
About You:
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Understanding of non-verbal communication techniques such as PECS, Makaton, etc.
- A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach
- A passion for supporting children with SEND
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of non-verbal communication techniques (PECS, Makaton, etc.)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and SENCOs
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday
- Start Date: Easter 2024

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
