Job Description:

Protocol Education are recruiting for a dedicated, enthusiastic Early Years Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant to work within a nursery in Wakefield.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support young children in their crucial early years of development, helping to foster their progress in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a nurturing environment where children feel safe to explore and express themselves. 
  • Collaborate with other staff members to plan and deliver engaging activities.
  • Observe, assess and support children's progress and development, such as communication and language.
  • Support individual and group learning, catering to a range of abilities and needs.
  • Helping set up and tidy the nursery rooms.
  • Always ensure the safety and well-being of the children.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young children, preferably within a nursery.
  • A level 2 or 3 certificates in childcare, or related qualifications.
  • A passion for early childhood education and a nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a supportive team environment.
  • An understanding of safeguarding practices.

Contract Overview:

  • Full Time Role Monday – Friday.
  • Working hours 8:30am – 3:30pm.
  • Temporary to Permanent Contract available.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
