Job Description:
Protocol Education are recruiting for a dedicated, enthusiastic Early Years Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant to work within a nursery in Wakefield.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support young children in their crucial early years of development, helping to foster their progress in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a nurturing environment where children feel safe to explore and express themselves.
- Collaborate with other staff members to plan and deliver engaging activities.
- Observe, assess and support children's progress and development, such as communication and language.
- Support individual and group learning, catering to a range of abilities and needs.
- Helping set up and tidy the nursery rooms.
- Always ensure the safety and well-being of the children.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young children, preferably within a nursery.
- A level 2 or 3 certificates in childcare, or related qualifications.
- A passion for early childhood education and a nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a supportive team environment.
- An understanding of safeguarding practices.
Contract Overview:
- Full Time Role Monday – Friday.
- Working hours 8:30am – 3:30pm.
- Temporary to Permanent Contract available.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
