Protocol Education is looking for a flexible and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team, working on a daily supply basis across a range of day nurseries in Essex. As a Nursery Assistant, you will provide support in various nurseries, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 0-5. You’ll be helping to deliver day-to-day activities, assist with routines, and support children’s learning and development on a flexible basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily routines in different nursery settings, including setting up activities, supporting children, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Support children's learning and development through play-based activities, ensuring they have opportunities to explore and grow.
- Work alongside nursery staff to implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, helping children meet developmental milestones.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, following safeguarding guidelines. ️
- Foster positive relationships with children, staff, and parents, contributing to a happy and supportive environment.
- Promote positive behavior by guiding and encouraging social skills, cooperation, and respect.
- Adapt quickly to different nursery environments, following each setting’s policies and routines.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with young children in a nursery or childcare setting, ideally with a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
- A warm, friendly, and approachable attitude, with the ability to connect with children and staff in different settings.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to quickly adjust to new environments and teams.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, colleagues, and parents.
- A commitment to safeguarding and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for all children. ️
- Passion for working in early years and supporting children’s development through engaging activities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
