Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and dynamic music lessons to students
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and stimulating curriculum that meets educational standards
  • Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development
  • Organise and participate in school music events and performances, showcasing the talents of our students
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the music education programme and foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in Music Education or a related field
  • Experience working with children and young people in an educational setting

Education:

  • Degree in Music Education or a related field
  • Teaching qualification (QTS)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Music Teacher, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality lessons
  • Experience in planning and delivering engaging and well-structured music lessons that cater to the needs and abilities of all students
  • Experience assessing student progress and implementing strategies to support their individual development

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of music theory and practical skills, with the ability to effectively teach both
  • A passion for music education and the ability to inspire and engage students in their learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan and deliver lessons and events effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Music Education or a related field
  • Experience in leading music ensembles or choirs
  • Experience in using technology to enhance music education

Working Conditions:

  • Temporary position, with a duration of 6 weeks
  • Full-time hours, with the expectation to work some evenings and weekends for events
  • Work within a school environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
