I am currently working with a secondary school in Shrewsbury who are looking for a music teacher to join their team from September 2024. We are looking for an inspiring and passionate Music Teacher who can deliver engaging and effective music education to students of all ages and abilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching music theory, history, and practical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality music lessons to students from KS3 to KS5.
  • Develop and implement a varied and comprehensive music curriculum.
  • Prepare students for music exams and competitions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music education across the curriculum.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of student progress and achievements.
  • Engage with parents and the wider school community to promote the music program.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Music or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
  • Proven experience teaching music at secondary school level.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one musical instrument.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Experience directing musical ensembles and organising performances.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
