Protocol Education are looking for Moving and Handling trained SEND Support Workers to work in this cross-phase school supporting young people with additional needs. If you have a background in care or working with children with severe learning and physical difficulties this role could be perfect for you.

About the school:

Based in Sheffield, the “outstanding” Ofsted rated school caters to children who have Severe and Complex needs. The setting educates children from the age of 11 – 19 who experience barriers to learning such as communication and interaction difficulties and complex physical and/or medical conditions. Each member of staff is fully committed to creating the best environment possible for all of their students.

About the Role:

Working as a SEND Support Worker you will provide support for students with varying needs who may find it difficult to engage in education due to their physical, mental or learning difficulties. Your role will include building rapport with students and creating positive relationships which influence them to regulate their behaviour. Initially you will work on a temporary basis however there could be the opportunity for a school to offer you a permanent position should they require.

What we need from you:

If you have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Carer, Support worker or are passionate about improving the outcomes for young people this is the role for you. As an individual you will be outgoing and confident in your abilities to work with children with behavioural difficulties and learning difficulties.

It is essential applicants have an up to date Moving and Handling certificate or a willingness to complete the training upon registering.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
