Protocol Education is currently seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to work with children who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in schools across South Shields.


Position: Mental Health Support Worker

Do you have a passion for supporting children with diverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), complex learning disabilities, and those with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs)? Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide Support: Offer mental health support to children with SEMH needs in schools across South Shields.
  • Individualised Care: Work with children with ASC, complex learning disabilities, and EHCPs.
  • Collaborate: Be part of a supportive local authority dedicated to tailored support for each child.
  • Inspire and Motivate: Challenge and support each student to achieve their best, regardless of their needs.
  • Create a Positive Environment: Use effective behaviour management techniques to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Support Growth: Assist students in their personal and academic development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
